Short-Range Wireless Switch System

Remote Switch System 1

The Remote Switch System 1 (RSS 1) is designed for Short Range RF wireless switching up to 350 yards*. As an application where faulty wire replacement or new installation is not possible or practical, the RSS 1 is the simple solution for:

• wireless pump control
• wireless valve actuation
• wireless conveyor control
• wireless gate control
• wireless light control

• wireless alarm control
• wireless engine control
• wireless PLC activation
• wireless automation

The RSS 1 consists of a 1-button (9 VDC) handheld transmitter and a 1-output (SPDT Class C Relay) receiver. Simply make your connections to the receiver, connect the supplied antenna, and the RSS 1 is ready for use and guaranteed to perform.

Transmitter (Part# 5109T)

Receiver (Part # 5112R)

System Operation

The RSS 1 transmitter is a momentary single push-button handheld transmitter with an audible tactile response. As an added security feature, the transmitter is digitally coded to match the receiver's random code to prevent unwanted reception. Over 4 billion code combinations are available. The RSS 1 receiver is designed to be mounted to a wall or in an enclosure. The receiver has several modes of operation. These modes determine how the output relay functions once a properly coded signal is received. A 4-position DIP switch located next to the Micro Controller allows the user to select the mode of operation for the output relay and is used to program the transmitter push-buttons. The programming port on the receiver and transmitter allows the user to digitally code the transmitter to match the random digital code generated by the receiver. This digital code is easily reset.

12VDC Solar Power Panel Kits are also available for the Remote Switch System for remote locations without electrical power.

Remote Switch Systems have been used for remote pump control and are ideal wherever wireless communication, wireless data acquisition, or wireless switching is needed.

For wiring information, see the Remote Switch System 1 installation guide.
