REMOTE CONTROL TECHNOLOGY PROVIDES WIRELESS SOLUTION TO GRAND ISLE SHIPYARD, INC.

Grand Isle Shipyard, Inc required a simple wireless solution for the activation of an alarm system aboard an oilrig.

Redmond, WA - March 14, 2011 - Remote Control Technology (RCT) was tasked with developing a simple wireless solution that could be customized to fit Grand Isle Shipyard's (GIS) specifications. GIS required an automated wireless solution as well as a manually operated hand-held control that would be able to activate an alarm system aboard an oilrig. Through discussions with GIS, RCT was able to develop a functional solution.

The first step in the process was completing the automated portion of the alarm system, by using the Short Range Wireless System. The Short Range System includes a stationary transmitter and receiver. Using an activation signal to close the transmitter's contact, a securely coded signal is sent to the receiver, which in turn activates the alarm. By using the Short Range System the alarm system became fully automated. To go along with the automated portion GIS also required a manual operation of the alarm. This segment was completed by the use of a Hand-Held Control (which can transmit up to 1000'). The use of a Hand-Held Control allows an operator to move about the oilrig and manually send a signal to a stationary receiver (the same as the Short Range System) to activate the alarm system. Thus, providing GIS an automated and manual activation of the alarm system aboard the oilrig.

With Remote Control Technology's extensive knowledge of their products and potential applications a functional solution was provided to Grand Isle Shipyard, Inc. Through the use of the Short Range System and Hand-Held Control GIS' alarm system aboard an oilrig could be activated automatically or manually.

Over the course of Remote Control Technology's 30 years, it has extensive experience designing custom wireless solutions for small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Some of the more well-known companies that RCT has worked with are: Boeing, L3 Communications, Northrop Grumman, Laser Guidance, Stoneway Cement, Ford, Puget Sound Energy, SAIC, US Army Corps of Engineers, and Raytheon. Remote Control Technology takes pride in its ability to design and complete wireless solutions from simple to complex applications.
