On March 1st 2011 Remote Control Technology (RCT), an innovator in Wireless Automation Solutions is expanding our Wireless Automation Systems (WAS) product line.

RCT is introducing the WAS 80442S and the WAS 80660S systems to address the demand for wireless analog and discrete digital data acquisition for industrial automation applications. The WAS is designed to provide a reliable radio frequency wireless network for the monitoring and control of discrete digital and analog devices. System Integrators and engineers using a WAS have the capability of eliminating the expense of long runs of wire or conduit at the same time taking advantage of the integrated I/O designed to operate in most environments.

Each WAS is a "Plug and Play" Network and includes all the hardware required to quickly setup a wireless network and configure your external control devices. In addition, RCT offers value added services such as, customized programming, engineering support, and phone technical support to meet the needs of their customers. Industries in today’s economy know that efficiency is the key to success and profitability. Monitoring, capturing and utilizing data is one of the ways industry leaders gain a competitive edge. Just a few of the applications for the WAS include: pump control, flow rate and tank level monitoring, conveyor and light control, PLC activation, and data logging.

To maximize reliability and performance in almost any environment, the WAS is designed to operate at 900Mhz providing a range of 2 miles and uses advanced communication techniques. Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) control architecture combine to ensure reliable data delivery. The Wireless Automation System is designed with advanced Intelligent Deterministic Communication Protocol (IDCP). Each network identifies when communication is lost and drives relevant outputs to user-defined conditions. Once the radio signal is reacquired, the network returns to normal operation.

Each system is a pre-configured and pre-wired network consisting of one Gateway and one or more Nodes, with the capacity for up to 46 Nodes in one system. The WAS 80442S supports four discrete digital inputs, four class C relay outputs, two analog (0-20mA) inputs and two analog (0-20mA) outputs. The WAS 80660 supports six discrete digital inputs and six class C relay outputs.

Over the course of 30 years Remote Control Technology has gained invaluable experience designing custom wireless solutions for customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Cindy Gladner, President of RCT takes great pride in our creative development and growth. “We understand that our customers want to use this kind of technology to become more efficient and save money. We provide solutions for projects as varied as the Washington D.C. Tunnels to United Airlines to Safeco Field. We partner with a wide variety of industries and provide solutions that increase efficiency, profitability and safety.” RCT has also provided a variety of creative wireless solutions for companies as diverse as Boeing, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, L3 Communications, Northrop Grumman, Laser Guidance, Stoneway Cement, United Airlines, Ford, Puget Sound Energy, SAIC, US Army Corps of Engineers, Raytheon and Washington State DOT.

Remote Control Technology takes pride in its ability to offer wireless solutions from simple to complex applications.
