Unfortunately, there was a reservoir and a ridge line in between the pump and the tank which prevented both landline and conventional RF line-of-sight control,” he recalled. Since Remote Control Technology’s Wireless Switch Systems use a 27 MHz radio frequency which does not require direct line-of-sight like most other products out there, Scott did not have to use a complicated network of repeaters to get the job done. “I installed the system in one day, connecting the existing float switch on the water tank to one input of the transmitter. The corresponding output on the receiver was connected to the existing auxiliary control relay on the pump. Power was applied and the system worked flawlessly… No license was required for the transmitter, so it could be installed right out of the box without waiting for authorization.”
